She wore no outer robe, only a dress. She was young, but older than he was. Long brown curls encircled her face and were gathered loosely behind her neck. Her dress, although worn, was of a rich fabric and reminded Lorenzo of the gowns worn by the fine ladies he had seen at the duke’s celebrations.
